Unifying a Cybersecurity Brand

OpenText transforms data into meaningful information—and through its Security Solutions cloud, protects and preserves it. However, the division formerly known as “SMB” faced challenges with brand clarity, visual cohesion, and alignment with the larger OpenText brand. To address this, the team renamed the division OpenText Security Solutions and began developing a unified brand system that would support clarity, consistency, and future growth.

The Challenge
“SMB” had no external recognition or clarity, and the division lacked alignment with the parent brand. Each product was visually and verbally disconnected, there was no unified voice or scalable brand system to support future growth.

The Approach
We began by renaming the division OpenText Security Solutions, aligning it with the parent brand to bring clarity and recognition. I collaborated closely with our Executive Creative Director to provide strategic and creative direction to both the external agency and internal teams. Together, we developed a unified brand system—refining messaging, color palettes, and graphic elements to ensure each product felt distinct yet part of a larger ecosystem.

While the agency focused on brand structure, I led the internal design team in implementing the system—creating tools, templates, and scalable assets that empowered marketing and sales while allowing the design team to focus on high-impact creative work.

Results
The rebrand was met with enthusiasm across the organization. The flexible system enabled consistency without stifling creativity and laid the foundation for seamless integration of future acquisitions.

This wasn’t just a redesign—it was a rethinking of structure. Through clear creative direction, alignment across internal and external teams, and a system built for scalability, we created a brand that’s both functional and future-ready.

The Hexagon is the core design element in ARxIUM’s visual brand language. With six equal sides, it connects to create infinite patterns and shapes, representing ARxIUM’s versatile and adaptive solutions.
The pill-shaped design originates from the construction of product icons and serves as the core graphic element in OpenText's product portfolio visual system, unifying the suite alongside the new color scheme and font set.
